gone "phish"ing...

Last week Scott & I dropped Evi off at Grama & Poppy's as he & I headed down to Asheville, NC & Knoxville, Tenn. to see our beloved band, Phish. It was my first trip away from The Peanut--4 days! After we said our goodbye's, we drove more than halfway to Asheville & camped at Pipestem Resort & State Park in West Virginia. The resort has a restaurant in which you have to take a tram down the mountain-side to get to it (or you can drive an hour and a half through the mountain). The staff actually have to take the tram to work everyday...AND their food deliveries get brought to the restaurant by tram, too! It was really cool! Monday we awoke & headed straight to Asheville. We got there in time for lunch, and had a beer with our lunch...as we walked around exploring Asheville, we stopped occasionally & had a beer here & there...we were in bed by 9:30! :) Tuesday we walked around some more before getting into line for the sold out general admission show---Scott really wanted to get good seats! And the wait was worth it...too bad we can't take cameras in to show the pics! Wednesday morning we ate breakfast and headed to Knoxville---we took the scenic route through the Smokies. We stopped in Cosby, Tennessee for lunch at Carver's Orchard & Restaurant---which housed a farm market & homemade candies...my heaven! There wasn't much to see in Knoxville, so we had dinner & drinks at a bar & headed into the show. Both shows were great! But come Thursday morning, we were more than ready to see our Peanut!

Our Bed & Breakfast in Asheville--The Chestnut Street Inn. Our innkeeper, LaDonna, thought Phish was "a very popular Christian band."

The sign to the restaurant & farm market we ate at. We both got Apple Cider BBQ Pork Sandwiches which came with apple cider, apple fritters and apple butter...mmmmmm good...seriously that was some good BBQ Pork!
